Project Summary:

An on-line, highly illustrated identification and occurrence guide for the monocots (e.g. sedges, rushed, grasses) and roses of PEI was developed in conjunction with the Atlantic Canada Conservation Data Centre. This is the third in a series of web-based plant identification tools for specific groups of the plants of Prince Edward Island to enable members of various wildlife groups and the general public without technical skills in botany to learn to identify both native and exotic plants of PEI. This tool supports both wildlife management applications and citizen science documentation projects across PEI and potentially elsewhere.
