Project Title:

Watershed Activities

Project Summary:

Our enhancement project for the summer of 2019 was geared to improve fish passage by reducing sediment in the channel. Along with sediment trap re-excavations, our project also focused on enhancing buffer zones with the planting of native trees/shrubs, stabilizing banks with repair and reconstruction of brush mats, and finally educational sessions to the public and youth with regard to electrofishing, falconry demonstrations and newsletters. All aspects of our project were a direct benefit to wildlife in that their habitat was rehabilitated to a healthier state and our youth were educated on wildlife living directly in their watershed.
